Common Thread Quilts

Our Story...

The 1930’s quilt that started it all, made by members of the Calico Club in Mexico, NY.
About Us:
We are a North Country community-building organization sharing the history and evolving art of quilting through creative projects, interactive educational programming, and special events.
We are:
-
Inspired by the 1930’s quilt on loan to the Wanakena Historical Association (WHA), and a sub-committee under the WHA. All donations are tax deductible.
-
Focused on outreach projects that involve local residents/organizations in collaborative creative activities. The Community Quilt Project and Common Thread Quilt Fest are two examples of our outreach efforts.
-
Partnering with SOS (The Old Schoolhouse/Adirondack Exhibit Center) to bring quilting/sewing classes to the greater Clifton-Fine community.
-
Establishing an Arts Education and Cultural Enrichment fund supporting classes, speakers, and other events that benefit the greater community.
